Gladys DeRouen

ibGladys Emma Derouen, 95, of Nederland, Texas passed away on September 20, 2008. She was born October 12, 1912 in Hayes, Louisiana to the late Eraste and Nettie Holland Hayes. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, St. Charles Altar Society, founder of Special Ed Services of Jefferson County, and the first president of the Nederland PTA.She was the loving mother of Horace Boudreaux, Jr. of Orange, Theta Morgan Cessac and husband, Dr. Fred Cessac of Pearland, and Frances B. Strickland and husband, Vernon of Nederland and devoted grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 8 greatgranddaughter.She was preceded in death by her parents two husbands, U. B. Morgan and Horace Boudreaux and son, Billy.Gladys was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Stacy and her husband, Chad Ward for her last three years.Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland Thursday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m., Father Dan Celebrant, with arrangements under the ions of Heritage Funeral Home, Jay Kolb arranging or.bi
