Gearldean Gussman, a cherished homemaker and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on January 16, 1948, in Village Mills, Texas, she graced this world with a warmth and love that touched all who knew her.
Mrs. Gussman was the beloved wife of Joe R. Gussman, Sr., to whom she was harmoniously united in marriage for fifty-seven years. Her steadfast love and unwavering commitment to her family were the cornerstones of her life. Gearldean's days were lovingly dedicated to nurturing her home and family, a calling she embraced with gentle strength and tender care.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe R. Gussman, Sr.; her beloved son, Joe Gussman, Jr.; and her cherished daughter, Geri Rondell Hill, along with her husband, Randy. Gearldean found immeasurable joy in her role as grandmother to Triston Gussman, Brittany Gussman, Jordan Orta, Jacob Orta, and Justin Orta. Her affection extended beyond to many great-grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by her loving presence.
Gearldean was preceded in death by her dear parents, Zibia and Iva Walters, whose values and kindness she carried forward. She also mourned the loss of her sisters, Laura Ann Parrot and Bertha Joy Anderson, whose memory she treasured deeply.
Throughout her life, Gearldean was known for her boundless love for her family, a love that was the true essence of who she was. Her legacy is one of dedication, compassion, and enduring affection—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
