Gerald Anthony Neeb, Sr., known affectionately as Jerry, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the age of 89 in Port Arthur, Texas, the place of his birth on August 15, 1936. A man of great character and warm spirit, Jerry dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his community.
As a Process Operator for Total, Jerry exemplified the values of hard work and commitment. He was a proud member of the National Guard for over 20 years, serving his country with honor and integrity. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus in Groves and Jasper, where he achieved the distinction of being a fourth-degree Knight. Jerry also displayed unwavering support for local youth sports, particularly Port Neches-Groves football.
Jerry was deeply committed to his family, which was the core of his being. He cherished his role as a father to his beloved children: Deborah Dengler and her husband, Steven of LaBelle; Jerry Neeb, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Port Neches; Tammy Bateman of Houston; and Blane Neeb and his wife, Brandy Davidson of Vidor. Jerry took immense pride in being a grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom meant the world to him.
Outside of family life, Jerry was known for his love of cooking, hunting, fishing, and playing poker. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family alike. His warm demeanor and infectious laughter were gifts to all who knew him, and he will be fondly remembered for the memories he lovingly fostered.
In death, he is preceded by his dearly departed wife, Maudie Neeb, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, and his parents, Frank and Ernestine Neeb.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerry's life at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4100 Lincoln Avenue, Groves, Texas. Visitation will take place on October 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass starting at 11:00 AM..
