George Frederick Wuenschel, Jr. 80, of Port Acres, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018. George was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on January 14, 1938 to the late George Frederick Wuenschel, Sr. and Susan Ann Valuer Tucker. George worked as a carpenter for the construction building industry, and also served in the Navy.

George is survived by ; his sons, Keith Wuenschel, and wife Terry, of Beaumont, and Kory Wuenschel, and wife Gainey, of Groves; his daughters Kelly Andrus, and husband Jon, of Beaumont, and Kim Smith, and husband Jeff, of Houston; his sister, Suzanne Welch of Port Arthur; his brother, Carl Wuenschel, and wife Becky, of Port Arthur; his grandchildren, Destini Alfaro, and husband Jorge, AJ Haynes, and wife Morgan, Brittany Hilgemeier, and husband Kevin, Wade Wuenschel, Staci Smith, Justin Smith, Kaleb Wuenschel, Mason Wuenschel, Kullen Wuenschel, Hillary Coy, Corbin Coy, and Hunter Cricchio; and his great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Joshua, Allison, and Emily; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marveline “Penny” Wuenschel; and his step-father, Robert Tucker.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home.
