Fred Ellis

Fred Ellis, 95, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away April 14, 2009 at the Pt. Arthur Community Retirement Home. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 18, 1913 to the late Thomas F. Ellis, Sr. and Vera Edwards Ellis. Fred was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school for 41 years. He was the owner of Fred Ellis Bookkeeping Service and also served as local and state president of the Texas Retail Credit Association. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Ellis of 64 years his parents and sister, Elizabeth Hall of Port Arthur.He was the loving father of Linda Rutty and husband, Ken of Port Neches, Texas and Nancy Vandivort and husband, Lance of Garland, Texas brother of Mary Evelyn Temple of Harlingen, Texas grandfather of Jessica Spears, Chad Rutty, Alyssa Rutty, Jason King, and Steven King and 6 greatgrandchildren.Visitation will be held in All Souls Mausoleum Chapel in Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. An intimate service of family will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Rev.
