Obituary

Frances Arlene Stelly Smith, 90, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Port Neches.

Frances was born on May 9, 1932, in Casper, Wyoming to Cosby Helen Miller Kind and William Carl Kind. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. Frances was a retired secretary for Faith Harbor Assembly of God for twenty years and was also a member there. She loved to garden, crochet and decorate her home for all seasons and especially Holidays. Frances loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a very loving, kind and considerate, compassionate person and very patient with everyone.

Survivors include her daughter, Erisa Hartman and her husband Randy of Port Neches; two step daughters, Connie Tassin and her husband Ricky of Groves and Jennifer Hallmark and her husband Charlie of Nederland; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; sister; son; grandson and her two husbands, Eris Stelly and Rufus Smith.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Frances Smith will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Bill Goren, Randy Hartman Jr., Reece Boneau, Chad Simmons, James Moity and Joey Sosa.

I've known Arlene for several years...from day 1 a beautiful person inside and out! My brother married her beautiful daughter Erisa...they've been married 49 years. I always loved to swing by an visit an have a cup of coffee. She married my moms brother Uncle Rufus an became Aunt Arlene. Rest in peace sweet lady.
