Ervin C. Marchand, a dedicated family man and talented operator, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, born on October 28, 1943, in Galveston, Texas, Ervin lived a fulfilling life characterized by his love and his passion for the sea.
Throughout his career as an operator for Firestone in Orange, Ervin demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence that left a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends. He was well-respected in his field and built many meaningful relationships during his time at the company.
Outside of work, Ervin cherished spending time with his family. He had a deep love for sailing and offshore fishing, pursuits that allowed him to build beautiful memories on the water with those he cherished most. His enthusiasm for these activities often brought joy not just to himself but also to his family, with whom he shared countless adventures.
Ervin is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel Marchand of Groves, who provided him with love and support throughout their years together. He leaves behind his son, Lance Marchand and his wife, Kari of Beaumont; Cody Marchand and his wife, Kelsey of Houston, his daughter, Brooke Marchand of San Antonio; and sons, Derek Serpa and his wife, Trini of Dallas, Texas, Michael Weatherly and his wife, Sabrina of Port Neches, and Kevin Weatherly and his wife, Rachel of Sour Lake. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jordi Arnold and her husband, Slate, Bradyn Marchand, Jaxson Marchand, Cooper Travis, Tanner Travis, Devin Armstrong, Nathan Armstrong, Malik Armstrong, Stetson Weatherly, and Steele Weatherly. Additionally, he cherished his time with his great-grandchildren, Cason Arnold and Andi Arnold.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Louis and Nancy Marchand, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness that he would carry throughout his life.
A visitation will be held on September 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, Texas 77651. Family members will be expressing special memories at 6:00 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Ervin C. Marchand. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
