Bridge City

Emil Frank Milich, Jr was born on December 13, 1966, in Port Arthur Texas. On June 21, 2024, the world bid farewell to Emil as he peacefully departed from this life.

Emil attended St Joseph Catholic School and Bishop Byrne High School, before graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1985. Emil made friends with everyone he met. This was especially evident during the many years he worked at Howard’s Grocery Store. There he honed not only his people skills, but his memorization abilities, learning all of the codes for the produce, he could still tell you the item number for cilantro! He transitioned his employment to Sabine Pilots, where he worked for nearly 30 years, forming lifelong bonds with all he worked with.

Emil spent many hours playing pool as a member of the APA Pool League of Southeast Texas. Though he loved playing pool with his friends, he was most happy spending time with his family, including watching movies with his mom and dad and attending the many sporting events and school activities of his nieces and nephews.

In mourning his loss, Emil leaves behind his loving parents, Emil and Barbara Milich of Richmond, Texas. He leaves behind his siblings: sisters, Charlotte Fulton (Jim) of Katy, Texas and Melissa Cawyer (Russell) of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Ted Milich (Jeannah) of Port Arthur, Texas and Kenneth Milich (Yolyanne) of Nederland, Texas. Additionally Emil is survived by his nieces and nephews, Allison Parker (Trey), Andrew Fulton (Hannah), Benjamin Cawyer, Zachary Cawyer, Abigail Cawyer, Yovany Milich, Yoselina Milich, and Yordan Milich, step niece, Liberty Stelly and step nephew, Mason Stelly. He is also mourned by Kelsie Salter, Ella Graves, Penny Beard, and numerous aunts, uncles cousins and friends who he considered family, which are too numerous to mention.

Emil will be reunited with his brother, Mark Andrew Milich, who preceded him in death.

The services to honor Emil’s life will include a visitation on June 28, 2024, starting at 5 PM at Melancon Livingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th St., Groves, TX. This will be followed by a funeral service on June 29 at 11 AM at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 211 Hardy Ave., Nederland, TX with burial following at Greenlawn cemetery with a reception at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Emil Jr.’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. While we grieve the loss of such a remarkable son, brother, uncle and friend, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind – a legacy filled with a passion for a game he loved and dedication to those he cherished. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all whose lives he touched.
