It is with a solemn heart and profound respect that we announce the passing of Ellen Kathy Beall Jones, a cherished and devoted member of her community and family, who departed this life on the 17th day of March, 2026, in Lumberton, Texas. Born on February 9, 1940, in Henderson, Texas, Mrs. Jones lived a full and purposeful life marked by faith, family devotion, and spirited companionship.
Ellen Kathy Beall Jones was a proud graduate of Tyler Commercial Business College, a testament to her determination and commitment to personal growth. Professionally, she was well known and deeply respected as a Mary Kay Cosmetics Consultant, where she found joy in both her work and interactions, enriching the lives of many with her outgoing nature and warm spirit. Her love for visiting and sharing meals with friends illustrated her gregarious character and innate kindness, traits that drew people to her and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A woman steadfast in faith, Mrs. Jones was a faithful servant of the Lord and a dedicated member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. Her spiritual journey was a beacon to her family and friends, guiding her throughout the many seasons of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Aaron Lee Jones, a partnership that stood as a cornerstone of her life. Also preceding her were her grandson, Dillon Dewey Jones, and her sisters Linda Carroll, Ann Crider, and Sunny Beall, whose memories she carried close to her heart.
Mrs. Jones leaves behind a loving and grateful family who will miss her dearly. Her son, Dewey Jones, and his wife, Linda, reside in Warren, Texas. She is survived by her daughters, Kay Johnson of Lumberton, Texas, and Julie Findlay of Orange, Texas. Her legacy extends to four grandchildren: Brandy Jones, Megan Henry, Ben Johnson Jr., and Thomas Findlay and his wife Isabella; four great-grandchildren: Gavin Otey and his wife Karlye, Matthew Meaux, Sebastian and Lanston Findlay; and one great-great-grandchild, Shaunie Otey. She also treasures the enduring companionship of her sister, Angel Leffingwell, and her husband Robert of Bastrop, Texas, alongside numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Olive Branch Hospice and Brianna, Secora, Cooper, Laura, Erin, Robert and Nicole.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches,Texas, located at 2001 Nall St., on the 21st of March, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Following this, a funeral service will be held at the same location on the 21st of March, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM, where all are welcomed to celebrate the life and legacy of Ellen Kathy Beall Jones.
As we gather to honor her memory, we hold close the example of her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and her joyful spirit. Ellen Kathy Beall Jones’s presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and her memory shall be cherished as a lantern that lights our path in the days ahead. May she rest in eternal peace.
