Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Hebert, 87, of Nederland, Texas passed away on December 4, 2025 at Bonne Vie, while under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice.
Libby was born on October 11, 1938 to Joseph and Gladys (Foote) Estes. She is survived by her two sons, Richard E. Hebert, Jr. and his wife, Sherri of Nederland, Texas, and Roger A. Hebert and his wife, Joy of Magnolia, Texas; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hebert and her partner, Sebastian of New York, Russell Hebert and his wife, Whitney of Nederland, Texas, and Eleanor Terlecki and her husband, Michael of Maine; one great-grandchild, Tatum Ann Hebert of Nederland, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hebert and her daughter, Rene Lyn Hebert; three siblings, Diana, Joelyn, and Vernel (Vic).
Libby was born in Danville, Illinois but lived in Texas most of her life. At the age of sixteen, she met the love of her life, Richard at a Community Dance, while he was stationed in Illinois with the United States Air Force. They married in June of 1955 and Mr. Hebert moved his bride back to his hometown of Groves where they started their family and memories.
Libby was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves, Texas. She and her family moved to Nederland in 1965 where she had a long career with the United States Postal Service in Nederland and retired after many years of service.
Libby enjoyed reading and was a genius at crossword puzzles. She never left a word unfilled. Her greatest joys in life were gardening, plants and flowers, and her family. As her family expanded, so did her joy.
She spent many years enjoying being a Mom, Grand Ma, and Great Grandma.
Libby's graveside celebration of life will be held on December 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas under the supervision of Melancon Levingston Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jennifer Macha and Tracie of Heart to Heart Hospice, and her caregiver, Christina Price and all her nurses at Bonne Vie in Port Arthur, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 20505 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
