Edward Myers, Jr.

July 16, 1941 — December 28, 2025

Port Neches, Texas

Edward Myers, Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed from this life to eternal peace on December 28, 2025, at the age of 84, in Port Neches, Texas. He was born on July 16, 1941, in Sondheimer, Louisiana, to Edward C. Myers and Bonnie Harvell Myers. Edward's legacy lives on through his devoted family and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.

Edward's professional career was marked by over twenty years of service as a Machine Technician in the field of Renal Care, along with many years at Bethlehem Steel and Nederland Nursing Home. His dedication to his work was evident, reflecting his strong work ethic and commitment to serving those in need.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Edward exemplified the values of service and community. He was an active member of the Val Verde Baptist Church in Groves, where he served as a Deacon and nurtured his faith. His commitment extended beyond the church, serving as Chaplain of the VFW Post 4820 for several years. Edward took immense pride in decorating his yard with the U.S. flag and working alongside his beloved wife to send care packages to U.S. service members.

Edward's innate warmth and affection were most profoundly reflected in the life he shared with his family. He was the loving husband of Peggy Myers for 53 wonderful years. His memory will continue to bring joy to his daughters, Melissa Myers of Silsbee and Lisa Pratt of Port Neches, as well as to his grandchildren, Abigail and Anna Pratt, and great-grandchild, Isaiah Rodeghier. He also leaves behind his brother, Larry Myers of Monroe, Louisiana, and sister, Tammy LaCaze of Lake Province, Louisiana.

Beyond his family, Edward found happiness in the companionship of his beloved fur babies and took pleasure in tending to his roses and working in the yard. His passion for life included being an avid fan of the Port Neches Groves Indians, further deepening his connection to the community.

Edward was predeceased by his cherished wife, Peggy Myers; his parents, Edward C. Myers and Bonnie Harvell Myers; his brother, Randy Myers; and his sister, Patricia Robertson. Each of these losses has left a void that will forever resonate within the hearts of those left behind.

Visitation will be held on January 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Val Verde Baptist Church, located at 3900 Cleveland Avenue, Groves, Texas, 77619.  A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas immediately following the service.

As we bid farewell to Edward Myers, Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by profound love, dedicated service, and unyielding faith. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
