Doyle Benjamin Jenkins

1954 ∼ 2026

Doyle Benjamin Jenkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doyle Benjamin Jenkins, who left us on June 3, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on December 11, 1954, in Huntsville, Texas, Doyle was a truly reliable presence in our lives, a wonderful grandfather, and a man whose fierce heart was a constant source of comfort to all who knew him.

Doyle's world revolved around his family. He was the kind of father and grandfather who always put his beloved daughter, Kristin, and cherished grandson, Hayden, above anything else. His dedication to them was unwavering, a testament to his deep love. He was very proud of their accomplishments, and especially proud of all of Hayden’s work in the high school band.

Beyond his family, Doyle found immense joy and freedom in the roar of a fast engine, whether he was racing cars or working on them, it was a true passion that brought him many challenges and great satisfaction. When he wasn't under the hood, you could often find him on the golf course, meticulously perfecting his swing, or trying a new driver. In the later years when golfing wasn’t always possible, Doyle was constantly researching recipes to cook and share with his friends and neighbors. He very much enjoyed baking and always made sure to make a little extra for those around him.

Doyle was also known for his strong-willed spirit, something that many who knew him can attest to, which guided him through life with unyielding determination and a clear sense of purpose. Above all, Doyle had a deep inner fire to keep pushing forward. Always there to give encouraging words, or crack a funny joke, or help a friend in need, Doyle stayed true to his convictions until the end.

He leaves behind his daughter, Kristin and grandson, Hayden; sister, Kathy and her family; brother, Kenny; step-daughter Melissa and her family; step-daughter Renee and her family; and many more from the old South Park days.

Doyle is now reunited with those who preceded him in death: his mother, Wanda; his stepmother, Elizabeth; his father, Warren; and his uncle, Dale.

Condolences

If you look at Doyle’s South Park High School senior group photo, I am standing on his right and Dave Johnson is on his left. He was a good friend and a pleasant classmate. We shared many laughs and I have such pleasant memories of Doyle. I miss the days when we’d cruise the drag on 11th Street in Beaumont. Doyle worked at Der Weinerschitzel. Countless times we’s drive through for a hotdog and to say hello to Doyle. I can still see him with the white apron and hat. He made it to our 50th class reunion. We were so glad to see him. He was recovering well from his health issues. RIP old friend. May God bless your family. May they know so many of us loved you.
