Douglas Wayne Carrier, 63, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on June 14, 2026, at his home.
Doug was born January 13, 1963, in Sulphur, Louisiana to parents Charles Dean Carrier and Mary Ann O’Bier Carrier. Just three months later, the young family moved to Port Neches, Texas where he would grow up with his younger sisters, Sharon and Kathryn Carrier. Doug, an Eagle Scout, attended Port Neches-Groves schools, playing varsity football and running track & field, before graduating from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1987. He started his career at MCT Credit Union where he met and married his first wife, Mary Moore Fadhli. His background in credit unions would later bring him to Dallas working financial software conversions at Jack Henry and later Symitar. He would then return to Port Neches upon his marriage to his second wife, Penny Bordelon Williams, returning to the community he always considered home.
Though born in Louisiana, Doug was an avid and loyal Texas sports enthusiast. While football was his first love—faithfully following the Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Aggies, and PNG Indians and attending many games with his sisters and brothers-in-law, daughters, and friends—he was passionate about all Texas sports teams. From a young age, he always enjoyed the outdoors and being active – he often joked that he only had one favorite subject in school and it was recess. His penchant for “never sitting still” was reflected early on in mowing lawns for neighbors as a young boy to excelling in varsity sports to earning the rank of Eagle Scout. That spirit continued through his young adulthood with many snow skiing trips (including a remarkable ski trip to the Dolomites), water skiing, bicycling, tennis, swimming – he was excited to try just about anything. With all that energy, it may come as no surprise that rock music and concerts were an indelible part of his life – something he often shared with his friends, siblings, and later his daughters. Few things made him happier than firing up a grill or smoker, and he took great pride in sharing exceptional food with his loved ones. Doug was always the first person to offer a helping hand to anyone in his life that needed it; his generosity was earnest and deeply felt by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Carrier. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann; children, Carli Carrier and fiancé, Ezequiel Lopez Di Frangia; Courtney FitzPatrick and husband, Kevin; Kaitlen Hargrave and husband, Chad; sisters, Sharon Molina and husband, Victor; and Kathryn Runnels and husband, Jarrod; his nephew, Jace Runnels and wife, Delanie and their son, James Runnels; and his niece, Sarah Hiltz and husband, Landon. He is also survived by his beloved German Shepherd, Buddy.
