Dorothy Gail Truncale of Bridge City, Texas was born on September 8, 1957, in Port Arthur, Texas, and departed this life on October 15, 2025, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and joy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Dorothy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Pharmaceutical Technician, dedicating many years of her service to Walmart in Bridge City, from which she retired in 2020. Her commitment to her community was evident in her role as a Youth Chaperone through St. Henry's Catholic Church program, where she also shared her faith and knowledge by teaching CCD classes.
As a passionate individual, Dorothy's hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit. She delighted in the rhythms of life, often attending concerts and immersing herself in the sounds of Rock 'n' Roll. Her adventurous heart led her to travel, with Hawaii being one of her favorite destinations. However, her greatest love was reserved for her family; her grandchildren were her life and the source of immense pride and happiness.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Jake Truncale and his wife JoAnna of China, Texas, and her daughter, Miranda Thompson and her husband Steven of Port Neches. She was a devoted grandmother to Ayden Sassine, Ezra Truncale, Molly Foster, Tatum Thompson, and Fox Truncale. Additionally, she is mourned by her brother, Rickey Land of Bridge City, and sisters, Candy Lavine and her husband Wayne of Lake Charles, and Rebecca Land of Bridge City.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harrison Land Sr. and June Hulin Land, and her brother, Harrison Land Jr.
A visitation in honor of Dorothy will be held on October 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with Funeral Service to begin at 6:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home 5601 39th Street in Groves, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a cherished woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry of love, dedication, and joy. Dorothy Gail Truncale will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
