Donna Radke

January 5, 1945 — February 20, 2026

Lumberton, Texas

Donna Radke, born on January 5, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Lumberton, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Melvin R. Radke, Sr and Judine Burnett Radke, and cherished sister to her brother, Melvin R. Radke, Jr., who preceded her in death, as well as her sister-in-law, Deanna Marie Radke.

Donna was a remarkable member of her community. She was a graduate of Lamar University, and dedicated her life to music as an award-winning Band Director with the Livingston Independent School District, where her passion for music inspired thousands of young minds. Her talent also shone brightly as Principal Flutist with The Beaumont Symphony Orchestra for several decades. As a premier-level musician, she also frequently performed with the Beaumont Civic Opera Orchestra and Beaumont Interfaith Choral Society Orchestra and held professional membership in the Texas Music Educator’s Association, Texas Bandmaster’s Association and Omicron Beta Chapter of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity leaving an indelible mark on the local music scene.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Donna highly valued time with family and friends. She loved dogs and treated them as true family members. She was a devoted member of her church (Soda Baptist) as well as having been an active member of First Baptist Livingston previously for many years. She was known for her famous homemade chocolate pies (pure heaven for anyone lucky enough to have a slice) and green “fluff” dessert. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy including coin and antique collecting, and a fondness for turtles - passions that showcased her diverse interests and gentle spirit.

Donna is survived by her loving nieces Stephe Lanoue (Heather Schlimgen) of Lumberton, Texas, Sandy Kedjierski (Douglas Cole) of St. Petersburg, Florida and nephew Melvin Raymond “Ray” Radke, III of Lumberton, Texas as well as great-nieces Katie Radke, Kimberly Kedjierski and great-nephew David Kedjierski. They will deeply miss her warmth, kindness, mentorship and sharp sense of humor.
