Donald Wayne Mackenroth, affectionately known as Don or Donnie, embarked on his journey in this world on October 20, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas. He departed from this life on January 22, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering faith.
Don dedicated a significant portion of his life as an accountant, then he offered his skills to the U.S. Postal Service until he retired. His professional accomplishments paled in comparison to the love he poured into his family. A proud veteran of the Army, Don served his country from 1965 to 1969, embodying the values of sacrifice and service that defined his character.
Don cherished his role as a father and grandfather, finding immense pride in nurturing his family. He is survived by his son Chad Mackenroth of Nederland; his son Michael Mackenroth and wife Krin of Nederland; his daughter Lisa Campbell and husband Chris of Atascocita; and his grandchildren Taryn, Taylor and Emily Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sandra Mackenroth, whose love and companionship played a vital role in his life. He also mourned the loss of his parents, Grover Sr. and Gloria Mackenroth, and his brother, Grover "Alfred" Mackenroth Jr., all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A visitation to celebrate Don's life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories of Don.
