Delores M. Heintschel

April 26, 1942 — January 29, 2026

Port Arthur, Texas

Delores M. Heintschel, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Groves, Texas, at the age of 83. Born on April 26, 1942, in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Delores was a devoted co-owner of C & D Appliance Repair, along with her husband Clarence “Tootie” Heintschel, Jr., who preceded her in death. Together, they built a thriving business that served their community with integrity and care. She was also treasurer of Jefferson County Ham Radio Club (KC5NEO). Delores’s work ethic extended far beyond her professional life; she was deeply committed to animal welfare, serving as a volunteer with Mid-County Paws of Hope, where her love for animals shined brightly. Delores was also an avid animal lover at home, finding companionship and joy in her beloved dog, Bella Rose Heintschel, who has also crossed the rainbow bridge.

Her personal interests included gardening, garage sales, and thrifting, activities that delighted her and provided joy in the simplest of moments. She nurtured her passion for music by attending numerous performances by her husband, savoring the melodies and memories they created together.

She was a devoted mother to her son, Gary Heintschel and his wife, Nelda, of Mauriceville; and her daughters, Cheryl Richie and her husband, Rickie of Groves, and Carol Heintschel and her partner, Joel. Delores was also immensely proud of her grandchildren: Jessica LaCaze, Ronny LeBeouf, Garrett Heintschel, Holly Brown, Rickie Richie, Jr., Monica Richie, Andrew Richie, Ashlyn Lamance, Dillon Richie, Cierra Richie, and Devon Sanchez, as well as her five great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and fulfillment.

Delores' brother, Donald Gachassin of Beaumont, and her beloved godchild Ellen Duplantis of New Iberia, Louisiana, also survive her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Amy Gachassin, her beloved husband, Tootie, and her cherished dog, Bella Rose Heintschel.
