David C. Hager, a cherished resident of Port Neches, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in South Charleston, West Virginia, on November 11, 1953, David's life was characterized by his unwavering commitment to his family and community.

A long-time member of First Baptist Church of Port Neches, David dedicated many years to his faith and community, exemplifying the values of kindness, generosity, and fellowship. He was an avid fan of track and field, always keeping up with the latest competitions and following the sport closely throughout the years. He also loved meteorology, science fiction, and computer science.

David leaves behind his beloved wife, Carmen Hager, along with their two children, son, Benjamin Hager and his wife, Christie, and daughter, Natalie Nehrir and her husband, Zach. He was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Oliver Hager, Emily Hager, Eden Hager, and James Nehrir, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is survived by his brother, Mark Hager, and his wife, Phyllis, along with his uncle Homer Hager. David was preceded in death by his parents, Dennie Hager and Anna Clark, as well as his brother, Todd Hager.

The visitation honoring David C. Hager will be held on July 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, all taking place at the First Baptist Church of Port Neches, located at 1900 Magnolia Avenue, Port Neches, Texas 77651. A graveside service and interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 4560 Texas Hwy. 87, Orange, Texas.

David's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his faith in Christ will remain a testimony to guide his family and friends to Jesus.
