Darla Rose Faul

1960 ∼ 2026

Darla Rose Faul

Darla Reann Faul, age 65, passed away on June 20, 2026, in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on October 11, 1960, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Donald Ray Rose and Shirley Ann Rose.

Darla was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. As a stay-at-home mom, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising her children, making sure they were surrounded by love, strong values, and faith. Whether it was taking them to church, supporting their activities, or caring for the many family pets, she always put the needs of others before her own. She had a kind and giving heart and never hesitated to make someone feel loved and welcome. Even in her final days, she lovingly cared for her three dogs, Sharon-Jean, Butler, and Junior.

She had a lifelong passion for music, especially live performances, and loved classic rock and blues. A devoted fan of Janis Joplin, Darla embraced life with a free spirit and was truly a hippie at heart. In her final years, she proudly owned a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, a car she absolutely loved and one that perfectly reflected her personality and free-spirited nature.

Darla found great happiness at Holly Beach, where she and her husband, Steve, spent the past 16 years making memories together. Together, they helped found the Holly Beach Crab Fest and enjoyed giving their time, energy, and generosity to the community they loved.

Nothing brought Darla more joy than her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and treasured every opportunity to make memories together. She especially enjoyed collecting and gifting vintage toys, wanting each of her grandchildren to experience the same special toys and childhood memories she had cherished growing up.

Darla is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Steve Faul of Port Arthur; her children, Michael Phillips and his wife, Silvia, of Port Arthur; George Phillips of Nederland; Stephen Faul of Groves; Diana Sutton of Port Arthur; and Erica Phillips of Beaumont. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Dallas, Nathaniel, Natalie, Abigail, Isabela, Troy, and Sutton, as well as her sister, Danette Day, and brother-in-law, Will, of Beaumont.

Darla will be reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, including her parents, Donald Ray and Shirley Ann Rose; her brothers, Donald Rose and Darren Rose; and her sister, Denise Montoya.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on June 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., with graveside services afterward at Memory Gardens in Nederland, Texas.

Darla will be remembered for the deep love she had for her faith, her family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
