Critt retired from Texaco/Huntsman Chemicals, where he dedicated many years of his career as a Plant Acct/Cost Engineer. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. This shaped much of his character and values. Outside of his professional endeavors, Critt embraced a variety of interests. He was an avid golfer who found joy in the outdoors and cherished the time spent on the greens. His passion for music was evident, as he loved playing the guitar, listening to a variety of genres of music, and singing. A collector at heart, Critt had a keen interest in guitars and firearms, believing firmly in the right to carry firearms.
Above all, Critt's heart was filled with love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Sharon K. Walton of Beaumont, Texas. Critt was a proud father to his sons, Critt Daniel Walton, Jr. and his wife Sherry, and Jacob Jon Walton and his wife Heather, as well as to his daughter, Shannon Fox Burnett and her husband Bryce. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Trace Walton, Cayman Walton, Grayson Walton, Lane Walton, Kaydance Walton, Beau Burnett, and Bryley Burnett, all of whom brought him immense joy.
Critt is also survived by his sister, Barbara Walton Reed and her husband Benny, his brother-in-law Kyle Bledsoe, Sr., and mother-in-law, Cleo Phillips. He also cherished his nieces and nephews: Charles Hartgrove, Kyle Bledsoe, Jr., Debbie Geer, Sonja Wyman, Theresa Brooks, Randy Bledsoe, and Sheila Smith, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Critt was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou (Cress) Walton and Garnett Daniel Walton; his sister, Joan Pennington Bledsoe; his brother, J.L. Pennington; and his brother-in-law, Larry Hartgrove. Though they have passed, their memories and love will continue to be a source of strength for those he leaves behind.
