Concetta “Chetta” Josephine Horn, 73, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 2, 1951, in Beaumont, Texas to John Orlando and Marie Brocato Orlando.
Chetta graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont in 1969. Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Horn, Jr., and they married in 1970. Together they raised four children.
Chetta was a devout Catholic who devoted much of her time to many ministries within her Parish. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity that touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Chetta had an unwavering devotion to her faith, a heart full of compassion, and was always looking for ways to serve God and others. Whether through acts of charity, offering a listening ear, or helping a friend in need, Chetta embodied the spirit of kindness. Her caring nature was a constant source of comfort to family, friends, and anyone blessed to cross her path.
Throughout her life, Chetta lived for her family. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and relatives, celebrating the milestones of their lives, and sharing in their joys and challenges. Her warmth, wisdom, and unshakable love were the foundation of the family she built and will remain a source of comfort and guidance.
Chetta is preceded in death by her father, John Orlando; mother, Marie Brocato Orlando; son in law, James Durso, and grandson, Easton Horn.
Chetta is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Lee Horn, Jr. of Nederland; son, Robby Horn and wife, Rita of Milam; daughter, Sheri Anders and husband, Adam of Port Neches; daughter, Lori Durso of Nederland; and daughter, Rene McHatton of Nederland; 11 grandchildren, Morgan LaCaze and husband, Jake of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Mason, Nolan, and Aiden Anders of Port Neches, Hannah, Derek, and Slade Durso of Nederland, Kolton Horn and fiancé, Destiny of Bridge City, Treyce Altman of Nederland, Gracey McHatton of Houston, Irelyn Horn of Nederland, and great-grandchildren Eli and Emma Horn of Bridge City; her sister, Catherine Polverari and husband, Ed; sister, Rosemary Brown; brother, Matt Orlando and wife, Linda; sister, JoAnn Burton and husband, Thomas; sister, Jonnie Broussard and husband, Pat; brother, Dominic Orlando and wife, Bridget; brother, Joe Orlando; sister in law, Martha Palmer, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends to honor Chetta’s life will be held on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2024, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024, at 10:00am, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, Texas with Father Jim McClintock, Celebrant. Internment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
