Obituary

Carolyn Ann Worthington, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 27, 1943, in Port Arthur, Carolyn dedicated many years as a faithful member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She also enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from Time Warner Cable after 15 years of dedicated service.

Carolyn's life was rich with joy and connection. She cherished her time playing Bunco with friends and found serenity spending time at the lake. An avid reader, she also loved to cook, and her Italian spaghetti was a beloved dish among family and friends. Carolyn embraced adventure through travel, especially cruising, and found simple pleasures in watching cartoons, and "The Golden Girls," with her grandsons, as well as, her favorite soap operas. Her heart also held a special place for her cherished fur-babies, Max and Lizzie.

Carolyn leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, David Harley Worthington of Groves; her daughter, Renee Christene Cagle and her husband, James; and her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Dwayne Womack and Jimmy Dale Womack, III. She also leaves behind her great-grandchild, Kyleigh Nevaeh Cagle; step great-grandchildren, Adrianna Daniels and Isabella Abrego; and step great great-grandchildren, Iris Smith, Roy Smith, and Connor Boyle. Carolyn is also survived by her brother, Hilman Ingalls and his wife, Kay, and her sister, Alice Rhodes.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Floyd Ingalls and Myrtle Ingalls Carlisle; her sons, Chad Worthington, I and Chad Worthington, II; her brothers, Floyd "FJ" Ingalls, Jr. and Stephen Ingalls; and her step-father, Johnny Carlisle.

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 4:30 PM, followed by a Visitation at 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 Lincoln Avenue, Groves, Texas followed by a graveside service at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
