May 22, 1944 — February 10, 2026

Port Neches, Texas

Carolyn Lane, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on February 10, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on May 22, 1944, in Baytown, Texas, she spent her formative years in the vibrant community of Port Neches, ultimately graduating from Port Neches-Groves High School in the esteemed Class of 1962. Carolyn furthered her education at Lamar Business College, establishing a solid foundation for her life as a devoted homemaker.

A proud member of 7th Street Baptist Church in Nederland, Carolyn was deeply rooted in her faith and cherished both her family and church community. She was the devoted wife of Paul L. Lane, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Carolyn's love was boundless, encompassing not only her husband but also her two sons, Jeff Lane and his wife, Sherri; and Brian Kevin Lane, who brought her immense joy.

Carolyn reveled in her role as a grandmother to her five grandchildren: Katelyn Payne and her husband, Lindon; Blake Lane; Holden Lane; Brock Lane; and Karson Lane. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Bruce Wayne Payne, who lit up her life with laughter and love. The presence of her sister Brenda Acord and her husband, Joel, and her brother Vaughn Block and his wife, Debbie, provided Carolyn with much support and affection—each family member a cherished part of her remarkable journey on this earth.

As a devoted homemaker, Carolyn created a warm and loving sanctuary for her family, skillfully combining her talents to ensure that everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Her passion for shopping, particularly for clothes, was well-known among those who loved her. She was an avid supporter of her community, fiercely cheering for Port Neches teams and holding season tickets for many years, embodying the spirit of a dedicated fan.

Traveling with her husband brought her immense fulfillment, with treasured memories made in destinations such as Pigeon Forge and Branson. These experiences were dear to her heart, fostering connections that she held close throughout her life.

Carolyn is the beloved daughter of the late Lloyd Henry and Stella Block, as well as the late Otis Block, who served as a stepfather. The legacy she leaves behind is one of love, service, and connection, a testament to a life well-lived.
