Brigitte (Bea) Borne Courtney

Brigitte Beatrice Bea Borne Courtney went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 9, 2009. Bea peacefully passed away in Lake Jackson, Texas at the age of 93 surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1916 in Rayne, Louisiana to Victor Joseph Borne and Susette Istre Borne. Bea was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, playing card games and holding garage sales. She was a riveter during World War II and an outstanding Cajun cook but will be most remembered as a loving mother, sister, and quotGrandma Beaquot. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Elmo Courtney, sisters Lorena McMann and Evelyn Hebert, grandchildren Bill Wayne Adaway, Ronnie Maraist, Don Maraist, Jr. and soninlaw Don Maraist, MD. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Helen Faye Adaway and husband Dan of Lake Jackson, Texas, Doris May Maraist of Lake Jackson, and Jessica Godfrey Lloyd and husband William of Brookeland, Texas brother Victor Borne and wife Ruby of Port Neches grandchildren Danny Adaway and wife Andrea, Elizabeth Jones and husband Dennis, Doris Wiggs, Ricky Adaway, Benny Adaway, Sandra Maraist and husband Mike, Donna Maraist, Cathy McNamara and husband Dillon, Jeremy Lloyd and wife Andri, Amy Garrett and husband Kevin 16 greatgrandchildren and 16 greatgreatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland, Rev. Jeff Bell officiating.
