Bobby Lee Henry, a devoted servant of faith and family, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Nederland, Texas. Born on December 4, 1932, in Jacksonville, Texas, Mr. Henry lived a life marked by dedication, both to his work and to those he loved.
Mr. Henry devoted thirty-four years of his life to DuPont Beaumont Works, where he retired as Superintendent, a testament to his unwavering commitment and leadership. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, embodying the honor and discipline of service to his country.
A man of deep faith, Bobby was a cherished member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. His commitment to his church family was evident in all he did, and he was regarded as a cornerstone of strength and kindness within the congregation.
His happiest moments were spent on the serene waters of Lake Sam Rayburn at Mill Creek, at his camp where he found peace and joy. An avid fisherman, he was often found on his boat, relishing the quiet pleasure of the lake. Those close to him fondly remember his generosity and love as he delighted in frying fish for family and friends, a cherished tradition that brought warmth and fellowship to many.
Bobby Lee Henry cherished his family above all else. He was devoted to his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Sidnette Henry of Nederland. Together, they nurtured a family grounded in love and unity. He is survived by his sons, Sidney Henry and his wife Dea Anne of Hemphill, and Steve Henry of Nederland; his daughter, Theresa Franklin of Nederland; and his treasured grandchildren, Janice Reyes and her husband Joey, Chris Franklin, Melissa Staggs and her husband Nathan, and Justin Franklin. The legacy of his love continues through his great-grandchildren Justin M. Franklin, Quincey Franklin, Cameron Franklin, Blake Beard, Kaydence Reyes, Carson Franklin, Charisma Franklin, Kade Reyes, Kennadi Franklin, Katherine Staggs, and Dakota Franklin. A host of nieces and nephews also carry forward memories of his gentle spirit.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Earl and Mary Elizabeth Henry, and his sisters, Vivian Norton and Beth Cogbill, whose memories he held dear throughout his life.
He was a man who loved and lived for his family and embraced his church community with open arms. His faith, integrity, and warmth will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church, located at 903 Avenue B, Port Neches, Texas 77651. This will be followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at the same location. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662.
Bobby Lee Henry’s enduring faith and loving legacy remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord, a pillar of his family, and a friend to many. May he rest in eternal peace.
