Billie Angelle, 88, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023 in League City, Texas. Billie was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 16, 1934 to the late, Mayo Romero and Anne Sassine Romero.
Billie was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School where she was a cheerleader and voted “Most Popular” girl. She was also crowned Homecoming Queen. After graduation, Billie went to secretary school at Port Arthur College for two years, received her degree and went to work at the Gulf Refinery as a secretary.
Those left to cherish Billie’s memory include her daughters, Cheryl Davis and her husband, Mark of Lake Jackson, Texas and Melissa Angelle Elton and her husband, Johnny of League City, Texas; son, Alton Glen Angelle and his wife, Susan of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Carissa Davis Story, Spencer Davis, Brian Davis, Alyse Angelle Draughon, Caitlyn Angelle Cuccio, Austin Angelle, Cody Bonvillion, Haley Turgeon and Tanner Jorgensen; nine great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Mayo Romero and Anne Sassine Romero; her loving husband of 63 years, Roland Angelle; brother, M.J. “Sonny” Romero; niece, Tena Romero Guidry; and two great-grandchildren.
Billie was a loving wife and very dedicated mother. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on Thursday, July 18, 2023 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 12:00pm. Private burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
