Anna Jacqueline Bodden Smith, 83, of Katy, TX, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Methodist Continuing Care Hospital in Katy. She was born September 12, 1940, in Grand Cayman, BWI, to Siebert and Estelle Bodden. Anna came to the U.S. in 1950 and became a naturalized citizen.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1958 and was a member of Central Assembly of God, in Port Arthur. Anna was a self-employed housekeeper for over thirty years.
Anna was a devoted mother to her children, Danny and Leslie. She loved to crochet, and her intricate crochet works were loving bestowed upon family members and friends alike. From doilies to a tablecloth her craft was impeccable. Anna enjoyed dancing back in her younger days and recently doing puzzles on her iPad. Her favorite color was red, and she loved cats, especially her favorite one, Lucky, who she adored. Anna was a strong Christian and always shared her love for the Lord and His plan of salvation with anyone that she could. She enjoyed the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries watching many hours a day and her love for football was also a fond hobby for Anna.
Anna is survived by her loving family; son, Danny Smith, and his wife Kathy of Port Acres, and daughter, Leslie Faulk, and her husband Toby of Katy; grandchildren, Ravin McFarlin, and husband Clint of Lumberton, Robyn Smith, of Port Acres, Brooke Siems, and husband Kyle of Hamshire, and Cody Faulk of Katy; great-grandchildren, Cade McFarlin, Graesyn Siems, and Logan Siems; sister, Sandra Willson, and husband John of Richmond; and nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Siebert and Estelle Bodden.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
