A Life Remembered
Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Nanny, Anna Lois Johnson Collida, a cherished homemaker, beloved matriarch, and treasured soul, who departed this life on June 13, 2026. Born on September 7, 1940, Anna Lois graced this world with her kindness, warmth, and steadfast devotion to her family and community.
A pillar of strength and love, Anna Lois dedicated her life to caring for her family, enriching the lives of those around her through her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment. Beyond caring for her family, she found joy in simple pleasures like bingo and slot machines, pastimes that brought light and laughter to her days.
Anna Lois is lovingly remembered for the precious moments spent with her family, especially the memorable times spent at grandchildren’s sporting events, a testament to her boundless enthusiasm and pride in their achievements.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her devoted parents, Mitchell and Clara Johnson; her loving husband of 65 years, Don S. Collida, Sr.; her sisters, Dorothy Barbay, Glenda Buxton, and Judith Johnson; and her beloved grandson, Colby Todd. Their memories shall remain forever etched in the hearts of those who loved them.
Surviving Anna Lois is a large and affectionate family who carry her legacy forward: her son, Don S. Collida, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Conroe, Texas; her daughters, Donna Fancher and husband Jim of Baker, Louisiana; Pam Todd of Port Arthur, Texas; Becky Dennis and husband David of Houston, Texas; Debbie DeLuna and husband Paul of Orangefield, Texas; and Melissa Vidrine and husband Craig of Groves, Texas. She was blessed with sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, each a living testament to Anna Lois’s enduring love and devotion.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and particularly to Nurses Stacy Howard and Regina Simpson, whose compassionate care provided comfort during Anna Lois’s final days. They are also deeply grateful to her granddaughter/caregiver, Maddie Vidrine, and her other caregivers, Tammy Woods, and Brandi Carrera for the love, devotion, and attentive care they provided throughout her journey.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons Kevin Fancher, Ryan Fancher, Aaron DeLuna, Corey Todd, Mitchell Todd, Kegan DeLuna, Nathan Vidrine, and Jaxon Vidrine. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Chad Miguez.
