Anna Mae Blanton

Anna Mae Blanton, born May 27, 1912, passed away January 11, 2010 in Houston. Mrs. Blanton grew up in and attended school in Dallas. In 1935 Anna Mae met and married Don Wayland Blanton in Rockwall, Texas. They were married for 60 years and made their home in the Port Arthur-Groves area until Mr. Blanton's death in 1995. Anna Mae was a loving wife and mother and active in the former Lakeview United Methodist Church, holding numerous offices and teaching Sunday School, and was a member of the Eastern Star. In 2000 Mrs. Blanton moved to Houston to be near her daughter, Sharon Felt. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were one son, Gary Lynn Blanton; father Robert Nim Archibald, mother Hattie Ethel Barton Archibald, two brothers and two sisters. Ann Mae Blanton is survived by her son Dr. Don Edward Blanton and wife Kathleen of Dallas, and daughter Sharon Ann Felt and husband David of Houston; grandchildren Stephen Craig Blanton, Arlington, Preston Keith Blanton, Carrollton, Miles Lawrence Blanton and wife Kathie, Frisco, Jason Ryan Felt, Houston, and Nicole Ann Elam and husband Geoffrey, Houston, great grandchildren Kayla Madeleine Blanton, Plugerville, Brady Jaydon Blanton and Beau Alexander Blanton, Frisco, Ashlee Kathleen Blanton, Wills Point, and Ryan Nicole Felt, Houston. The family wishes to thank Elizabeth and Zoila for the loving care they gave Anna Mae. Donations may be made in her memory to Seven Acres, 6200 N. Braeswood, Houston 77074. Graveside funeral services will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13 under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.
