Alex J. LeBlanc, a beloved figure in the community of Port Neches, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on March 10, 1932, in Port Neches, Alex was the cherished son of the late Dallas and Ouida LeBlanc. He displayed unwavering dedication throughout his life, notably serving in the Army and later making significant contributions as an Operator at Ameripol-Synpol.
Alex was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where he fostered friendships and created lasting memories with fellow parishioners. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. His warm spirit made everyone feel special, and his genuine kindness never went unnoticed. An avid enthusiast of life, Alex had a passion for playing cards, Dominos, and watching horse racing, often sharing these interests with his family. He loved to play golf and loved to dance to Cajun French Music.
Family was at the heart of Alex’s life. He is survived by his son, Michael John LeBlanc of Orange, Texas, and his daughters, Tammie Gilfillian and her husband, Peanut, of Stowell, Texas and Terri Ewing and her husband, Ken of Winnie, Texas. He took great joy in being a grandfather to his grandchildren: Bryce Gilfillian, Austen Gilfillian and his fiancé, Audrey, Landon Prejean and his wife, Samantha, Godot Ewing, Chloe Ewing, Brandon LeBlanc and his wife, Morgan and Amber Torbert and her husband, Derek. Alex's legacy continues to thrive through his great-grandchildren: Aspen Torbert, Preston Torbert, Keaper Elliott, Khora LeBlanc, and Gloria Prejean.
Alex is also survived by his siblings, brother James LeBlanc and his wife, Karen, of Groves, and sister Shirley Griffith and her husband, David, of Port Neches. He will be profoundly missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dallas and Ouida LeBlanc; his sisters, Eva Frederick and her husband, Russell, and Mary Simon and her husband, James; as well as nieces Danette Simon Gresham and Valeria Thibodeaux.
The memory of Alex J. LeBlanc will be honored in a series of memorial events at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. A Rosary will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM. This will be followed by a Mass at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, starting at 11:30 AM. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who was not only a friend but an irreplaceable treasure to all who knew him.
